5. Data Processing and Privacy
Customers are responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate lawful basis for submitting personal data to the Service.
When customers submit personal data through the Service, the customer acts as the data controller and Address to ISO20022 acts as a data processor processing personal data solely to provide the Service.
Address data submitted through the API may constitute personal data under applicable data protection laws.
The Service is designed according to data minimization and privacy-by-design principles. Address data is processed transiently and is not permanently stored except where reasonably necessary for:
- Security monitoring
- Fraud prevention
- Service reliability and debugging
- Billing disputes
- Legal compliance
Our processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and DPA.
6. Subscription, Billing, and Payments
6.1 Subscription Plans
The Service may be offered through free, usage-based, monthly, or annual subscription plans.
6.2 Payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe.
You authorize us to charge all applicable fees associated with your subscription or usage.
6.3 Taxes
Fees are exclusive of taxes unless otherwise stated. You are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, and governmental charges.
6.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise required by law.
6.5 Refunds
Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including software, APIs, documentation, trademarks, branding, and related intellectual property, remains the exclusive property of Address to ISO20022 or its licensors.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service.
8. Third-Party Data Sources and Attributions
The Service incorporates data from third-party providers that publish their data under open licences. We acknowledge the data owners and reproduce the attribution statements required by their respective licences below. By using the Service, you acknowledge these sources and, where you reproduce, redistribute, or display data returned by the Service, you agree to carry the same attribution statements through to your own audience as required by each source licence.
8.1 GISCO postal-code dataset (European Union)
Postal-code data, NUTS classifications, and administrative-unit references for European jurisdictions are derived from the GISCO postal-code point dataset published by Eurostat, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) licence.
© European Union – GISCO, 2024, postal code point dataset, Licence CC-BY-SA 4.0.
8.2 ONS Postcode Directory (Great Britain only)
UK postcode data, coordinates, and administrative-area assignments for Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) are derived from the ONS Postcode Directory (ONSPD) published by the Office for National Statistics. ONSPD is a composite dataset incorporating the intellectual property of Ordnance Survey, Royal Mail, and the Office for National Statistics, made available under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2025.
Contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right 2025.
Source: Office for National Statistics licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Northern Ireland coverage notice. Northern Ireland postcode data (postcodes with the BT prefix) is published by Land & Property Services Northern Ireland (LPSNI) under a separate licence that does not permit commercial re-use through a hosted API. To remain in full licensing compliance, the Service currently does not enrich or geocode BT-prefix postcodes. Addresses submitted with a BT-prefix postcode will return parsed fields based on the input text alone, without postal-database enrichment or postcode-centroid coordinates. We expect to add Northern Ireland coverage once a commercial LPSNI licence is in place.
8.3 OpenStreetMap (worldwide geocoding)
Geocoding, building-existence verification, and coordinate look-ups are powered by OpenStreetMap data. OpenStreetMap data is made available under the Open Database License v1.0 (ODbL) by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Cartography and map tiles are licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0.

8.4 Customer obligations
Where you cache, redistribute, publish, or otherwise make available data returned by the Service to third parties or end users, you are responsible for reproducing the attribution statements above in a manner appropriate to your medium, and for complying with any further obligations imposed by the underlying licences (including, where applicable, the ShareAlike obligations of CC BY-SA 4.0 and ODbL when distributing substantial portions of the source datasets).
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain reliable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service may be unavailable due to:

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or reliability.
The Service provides automated address normalization and geocoding outputs that may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or confidence-based estimations.
Customers are solely responsible for validating outputs before using them in operational, regulatory, payment-routing, KYC, AML, sanctions-screening, compliance, or other business-critical workflows.

- We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages;
- We shall not be liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or data;

- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of applicable law
- Data submitted through your account
13. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service where:
- You breach these Terms
- Your use creates security or legal risk
- Required by law
- Necessary to protect the Service or other users
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
